Burning Mill does not detect my recorder
There are serveral possible sources to this problem. The most common are listed below:
- You have an application using cygwin1.dll running in the background. Unfortunately only one instance of cygwin1.dll is allowed in the memory at once. You can solve the problem by exiting all other applications using this library and then rescaning the devices in the Burning Mill device configuration.
- You are using a non-administrator account that lacks permissions to use the recorder. You can use Nero BurnRights to manage the rights of your recorder.
- You are using a SATA recorder. Normally SATA recorders can be detected fine. If it's not working you can check your BIOS configuration, try changing the onboard SATA chip type to "IDE" instead of "AHCI/RAID".
- You are using a Windows 9x system with no ASPI driver installed.
- Your recorder is broken.
I have problems using Burning Mill as a non-administrator
Please try to use a 3rd party software like Nero BurnRights to manage the rights of your recorder.
How do I work with multisession discs in Burning Mill?
To create a multi-session disc, do the following:
- Start Burning Mill and create a new data DVD project.
- From the menu, select File -> Properties...
- Select the ISO tab.
- Change format to Mode 2 XA (multisession).
- Add your files to the project and burn them as usual.
- To continue with a multisession disc, do the following:
Create a new multisession project by repeating steps 1-4 from above.
- From the menu, select Actions -> Import Session...
- Select the recorder you want to use and click the OK-button.
- Add you new files to the project and burn the project as usual.
Burning Mill produces unreadable discs
It's possible that the discs contain errors that can not be corrected. To minimize these kind of errors, do not record discs on the fly, and make sure that you're not recording discs in a too high write speed.
